Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

The institution has established an IQAC during the academic year 2018-19 with senior professor & HoD as its chairman and one senior faculty member as the convener. It is represented by HoD’s of various departments and senior faculty members.

# The IQAC monitors quality assurance and the Principal plans out academic and administrative activities through the meeting of the institutional planning body which is responsible for the functioning of the college.

# The outcomes are discussed in the academic meetings for improvements like teaching methods, remedial classes for slow learners, placement activities, training programs for competitive exams, NSS/NCC activities, and value-added programs.

# IQAC reviews institutional process and provides suggestions for quality assurance.

A majority of the suggestions made by IQAC are implemented in our institution like incorporating innovative teaching methods, organizing workshops and conferences, conducting additional courses beyond syllabus for technical updation to become industry ready, membership in professional bodies like ISTE, CSI, IEI, etc.

Entrepreneur Development Cell ( IEDC)- Innovation

Entrepreneurship development cell aims to support and boost the efforts of building entrepreneurs, and transform them into successful entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship development cell helps entrepreneurs turn ideas into viable businesses. This Cell cultivates rare breed of entrepreneurs by incubating, accelerating, mentoring and funding innovative start-ups.

Entrepreneurship development cell is working in collaboration with the national entrepreneurship network (NEN) in promoting entrepreneurship among the students at the campus to raise the spirit of innovation and creativity.

Anti-Ragging and Anti Sexual Harassment

Ragging Free Campus

The college strictly adheres to the stringent directiveness of the Government of India and UGC, by formulating various committees to address grievances.

Ragging is a punishable offence as per section 116 of Karnataka Education Act No.1 of 1995.

Students are expected to adhere to guidelines for prohibition of ragging and gender sensitization. Anti-Ragging and Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee will meet frequently in order to oversee that no Ragging or Sexual Harassment take place inside the class rooms, within college, hostel premises and at other surrounding places.

Campus Norms:

  • Student must always carry and wear their college identity card.
  • Students are expected to conduct themselves in a worthy manner in their dressing; demeanor during class hours, loitering in the campus, corridors will not be.
  • Code of conduct on the campus includes safeguarding the Institutional property,
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited.
  • Defacing any part of the campus is treated as an offence.
  • Use of mobile/cell Phones along the corridors or inside the classrooms is strictly forbidden and will lead to confiscation & strict action against the student.
  • Students are expected to make use of the library services during free hours.
  • Students must ride/drive their vehicles into & at the campus in a moderate speed only; Students are expected to wear helmets and park the vehicles in parking area only.
  • Important notices/notifications/circulars etc are displayed separately at allocated notice boards; Students are expected to make it a practice to regularly read such displayed information.
  • For any certificate that is to be collected from the administrative  office, request letter must be submitted a day in advance
  • All visitors are expected to establish their identity & purpose of visit upon entry into the premises.

Attendance Requirements

Students are required to fulfill the attendance requirements as prescribed by VTU to be eligible to appear/attend for the semester examinations. The students as well as their parents shall be informed about their attendance status periodically by the college so that students shall be cautioned to make up the shortage.

Examinations & Eligibility:

There shall not be any restriction for promotion from odd semester to the next even semester, provided the student has fulfilled the attendance requirements.

A student shall be eligible for promotion from even semester to the next odd semester (i.e. of the next academic year) as per VTU regulations depending upon the year of admission.

Scholarships:

 

  • State Scholarship Portal (SSP) is an application for administering scholarships. This portal will be mandated for use by all Departments that disburse Scholarships. For the current Financial Year pre-metric and post-metric scholarships of Department of Social Welfare, Dept. of Backward Classes Welfare, Dept. of Minority Welfare and Dept. of Scheduled Tribes Welfare will be disbursed through SSP.
  • SC/ ST /Minority can apply through the web portal  ssp.karnataka.gov.in
  • Other Backward Class can apply through the web portal karepass.cgg.gov.in
